The main purpose for this blog is to have an efficient and effective way of updating whoever is interested about my cancer treatments and whatever else I decide to include.
I have been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) four times throughout my life. The first time I was diagnosed was January 2009 and it was a week before my thirteenth birthday. I went through chemotherapy treatments for that until April 2011. I finished high school in New Jersey and spent my freshman year of college at Brigham Young University in Utah. The second time I was diagnosed (and first time I relapsed) was in July 2015 while I was in the Missionary Training Center, preparing to serve a mission for my church. I finished chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments for that in July 2017. The third time I was diagnosed was at the end of October 2017, which was half way through my third semester at BYU. I had to go home immediately and I went through chemotherapy and immunotherapy (CAR-T cell therapy) treatments. I received my T-cells in March 2018 and spent a lot of 2018 recovering from that. I decided to return to BYU for the Fall 2018 semester and I am so glad I did! In December of 2018 I found out about my third relapse and I am receiving chemotherapy and planning to get a bone marrow transplant.
I am 23 years old, live in New Jersey, and I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I love photography, the beach, dogs, books, and pizza.
